Who Are ScarlettFM? 

Scarlett FM Opened on the 10th October 2004. We are proud to be the first 'Ham Radio Internet Music Station' on the Isle  of Man, the UK & possibly Europe.

Our Studio is located in Douglas and is looked after by Mike. Mike takes care of all the automation, playlists, relays, and on the odd evenings & weekends you can hear Mike performing LIVE!. Mike also has the streaming camera running most days from the studio, so tune in and take a look.

For broadcasting we use the Sam3 BroadcasterThis software is perfect for us and very stable and easy to setup, once setup then its runs forever with only minimum of maintenance. We run our LIVE radio shows using VirtulaDJ, we find this the perfect software for our live events.

Currently we run two radio streams and two video stream. Radio Stream 1 is set for 24kbps Mono via our Windows Media 9 server and is aimed at our dial up listeners. Our second Radio stream runs 128kbps Stereo via our shoutcast server and is for our ADSL & SDSL listeners. For our live Video Streaming we use the NSV Tools via our shoutcast NSV 96k stream. We use the new 'VP6.2' Codecs with a video rate of 70kbps & the ACC Plus' Audio Codecs with audio rate of 48kbps this gives us a very good video stream with excellent audio. Our music library consists of over 70,000 MP3's & WMA's and growing every day. We really only playlist music  from the 1970's,1980's, 1990s but we do tend to mix it up from time to time and of course any request that comes in then we will try to play. You can now place your own request via our popular Jukebox within our site and depending of traffic your request will usually be played next.
